Puffers
Instructor/Student Ratio: 1 / 4 | Class length: 30 minutes
Select Puffers Class When:
Student is 6 to 12 years old. A beginner who does not know how to swim. Uses floaties or a lifejacket and is not comfortable.
Class Goal:
Demonstrate a comfortable and independent back float and glide with their head down, eyes in the water 3 – 5 feet.
Safety:
We practice every lesson if child falls in the water, turn and get to the wall and pull their bodies out of the water. As they grow, this will become a muscle memory and a habit.
Next level is: Stingrays class.
Stingrays
Instructor/Student Ratio: 1 / 4 | Class length: 30 minutes
Select Stingray’s Class When:
Student is 6 to 12 years old. Comfortable swimming independently, head down/eyes in on their belly. Able to float on their backs independently and come out to instructor without assistance.
Class Goal:
The foundation of freestyle and backstroke with correct body position and arm position. The body position is prepared for learning side breathing in this level.
Safety:
We practice safety swims each lesson and begin to add some distance in the swims.
Next level is: Seals class.
Seals
Instructor/Student Ratio: 1 / 4 | Class length: 30 minutes
Select Seals Class When:
Student is 6 to 12 years old and graduated from the Stingrays class or can swim freestyle progression and backstroke with proper form.
Class Goal:
Freestyle side breathing to their preferred side as well as maintain back streamline and kicks while learning backstroke arms. Demonstrate butterfly and breaststroke kicks.
Safety:
Safety swims practiced with further distance.
Next level is: Dolphins class.
Dolphins
Instructor/Student Ratio: 1 / 4 | Class length: 30 minutes
Select Dolphins Class When:
Student is 6 to 12 years old and graduated from the Seals class or are able to swim using preferred side breathing, swim backstroke and be able to demonstrate butterfly and breaststroke kicks.
Class Goal:
Freestyle side breathing to their non-preferred side as well as learn backstroke, butterfly and breaststroke progressions.
Safety:
Safety swims practiced with further distance.
Next level is: Sharks class.
Sharks
Instructor/Student Ratio: 1 / 4 | Class length: 30 minutes
Select Sharks Class When:
Student is 6 to 12 years old and graduated from the Dolphins class or are able to swim using non preferred side breathing, able to swim backstroke, breaststroke and butterfly progressions.
Class Goal:
Bilateral breathing; breathing for butterfly and breaststroke; and be comfortable with flip turns at the wall.
Safety:
Safety swims practiced with further distance.
